Committee Members - Tony Buhagiar, Jarryd Halson, Claudio Marino

We have a lot of fresh ideas for exciting events, and other things to make our town the best place it can be in which to live, work, play, and shop. We hope to make a positive impact upon Traralgon and its rural districts.

"A Better Deal"
In the past, the TCDA helped fight for a better deal for Traralgon. That resulted in the new ward structure for Latrobe City, which has given us better representation on Council. Now, it's time to move forward and make the best of what we have to work with, though naturally, we still expect to see a more equitable distribution of monies collected from our rates.

The Peforming Arts Centre
At the top of our wish list is a first-class PAC for Traralgon. Because our current PAC is small and outdated, we miss out on the performances that go to the larger facilities in Warragul and Sale. That also means we're spending our entertainment dollars elsewhere, instead of support our local businesses.

With the opportunity for Latrobe City to complete a funding submission with the National Stronger Regions Fund, it was imperative that our residents make their support known. TCDA volunteers collected 1000+ submissions in favour of the Traralgon site, and they were delivered personally to Latrobe CEO Gary Van Driel on 11 May 2015.

The Aquatic Centre
We also hope to see the Aquatic Centre replace our old unheated outdoor swimming pool in the future (for more info on the project, click here - requires PDF reader).

This is a resource that would serve all of Latrobe City's towns, not just Traralgon. As designed, not only would it be a great place for families - but also for hosting Swimming Competitions. In addition to the benefits for the Swim Club, it would help to boost tourism, as those attending from outside the area would require meals (and perhaps accommodation) while here.

Fun Events
In the interim, the TCDA is very keen to create and foster events that get people out and together!
Part of that involves the soundshell in Victory Park being utilised more often. It's a great resource, and can be used for so many different things.

We welcome the opportunity to work with other local community groups, to help plan and implement positive projects for the benefit of our residents. We'd be happy to meet with their representatives to discuss what can be done.
